Arrgh..finally got down to blogging.Been so busy this whole week!Like almost everyday I have something on..it's quite tiring..haha..but I love hanging out with my loved ones..so no complaints.
TITLE: Don't tell God how big your storm is, Tell the storm how big your God is!
Really love this phrase.I was feeling down very down on Friday, funny how fast I recovered during the weekend.
On Mon, the cobrands team-steph, duriz, shawn as well as vincent took me out for lunch at sakae and then dessert at swensens. It was really nice of them to just spend some time with me and give me advice on the uni courses as well as career prospects etc. the lunch treat definitely cheered me up loads. And it felt so nice to be loved like that. 1 of them reminded me that God has plans for us though they may seem invisible and that whenever a window closes, another one will open.
I have already decided on my uni courses, it's now between smu and nus, and im just going to apply and whatever course that I get in, I will accept it and place my trust in God.
1 of my special bestie was so busy at school,running about to buy stuff for orientation and was obviously so so tired but he made the effort not to pang sei me.It actually made me really happy and appreciative of his friendship. I wanted to cancel our dinner date, but the fact that he cabbed down and rushed down just to meet me made me really happy. (though he was over an hour late! ) Kudos to you( you know who you are) and this has shown me how true a friend you are. (not like some people who have stood me up twice in a row)
Then I spent the weekend with my sis and slept over at her house. It has been a long time since I hung out with both my sisters. We just drank, ate, watched tv and talked. Had a blast this weekend, cant believe that it's fast approaching another week le.bleah.Really appreciate knowing that both my sisters will support me in whatever that I do and that they have been encouraging me all the way. :) Thanks :) For just being there for me though your actions are not obvious :)
Then this weekend was really special for me too. I got commissioned as a catechist. And I went for a retreat on Sat to prepare myself for today, and oh boy, I definitely reflected and made a promise to God to be very serious in this vocation and to let him guide me.
I realised that sometimes, when I use the textbook to teach my kids, I will want to just clear the pages and in that sense, the message that I wanna relay to them is kinda lost. Guilty as charged. Like what Father Thomas says, it's more important for them to learn something and keep God's words implanted in their heads.
I wil try my best to prepare lessons and make them as enriching and fulfilling as I can.
Wanna share this line from the bible that inspired me during the retreat.
"For the spirit that God has given us does not make us timid; instead his Spirit fills us with power, love and self-control."
And from the sister who conducted the retreat-"it is only when we let go of our fears, worries and our own needs/want to please others, then we can truly be a messenger of God."
And "God helps us to overcome our weaknesses and limitations, and that it is through our weaknesses that we become stronger."
And "God sends us to be his instruments so we as catechists play important roles. The sender is really important too. And by receiving his spirit we can share his love and faith with others. "
And " bearing fruits does not equal to efficiency."
Being a cathechist has been interesting and I really love my kids-Andre and Jo-ann. Thanks for being a part of my life and Im really grateful to be ur teacher.
