Hey everyone. I am safe and sound! Yup! My family and I were not hurt by the tsunami. We were holidaying in Penang, but this time round, we did not choose to stay at Batu Ferringhi. Instead, we stayed nearer to town, at Tanjung Bungah, which is much further down from BF, so our hotel beach was not affected badly. Only thing is, the Msia news showed lotsa pics of dead people which is quite depressing, And most of the dead people are the locals, not the tourists. There was one pic where they showed a little girl, abt 4 years old, sprawled on the beach, her body limp. That pic still haunts me now. There was this guy who like survived but he lost all 4 of his children and he was so traumatised. Poor guy. N there was this 6 month pregnant woman who was just sitting in the beach, and she got swept away by the killer waves. So I am thankful that my famliy and I are safe.
On the whole, the holiday was quite fun. Bought lotsa stuff. The only bad thing was not being able to appeal for the PAE. For the 1st 3 months, I got posted to NJC. I was so disappointed cos I thought that I could enter RJC . I could not appeal cos the form had to be submitted personally to the JC general office. And some people who had a L1R5 aggregate of 7-8 points appealed and they could enter RJC. Just my luck. But the whole thing is very unfair. It's like MOE anyhow post the students for the 1st 3 months.Then they must appeal so that they can enter the JC that they want to. Sigh. Guess I can only try to enjoy myself for the 1st 3 months I suppose. Oh well. Really tired now. BTW, just wanna wish everyone a Happy New Year 2005! Haha! Better set your new year resoultion soon!
